For my research argument I plan on
doing whether or not the government should lower the legal drinking age. I’m
going to take the stand of no they should not lower it because of all the risks
that come about using alcohol especially at an immature age. I’m to going emphasize the health effects due to
using alcohol when young, the dangers of using it such as car accidents and
injuries, and also the fact that by legalizing it the government would be permitting
it whereas now yes of course it still happens but there are many penalties that
come about using it if caught at an underage.
I agree with you over not lowering the legal drinking age. for your argument,The side effects still are the same even when your an adult as with younger individuals, the effects just have a possibility of taking place earlier in the persons life. This could use more investigation though.you can also include the arguments of people from the other side, such as "This is a free country, people should not be limited on what they can consume just because of their age" or "If individuals are able to smoke tobacco, why not alcoholic beverages, its less harmful to the body"
ReplyDelete-hope you do well
Perhaps you can question the moral responsibilities and the real responsibilities involved with drinking alcohol. Maybe you can reference sex ed for the similar relevant responsibilities, but you might go off topic and you would prefer to keep the whole argument germane.
ReplyDeleteLike you mentioned earlier, underage people still drink regardless of the consequences they might receive. You could emphasize on the troubles brought by the law and personal well-being. At the very surface, the only difference between lowering the drinking age is that the law is used. Both retain the moral aspects involved.
I assist if you'd like.
